Beauty and Brains

I do not know if this is true, but heard someone say it (probably my father) and it was damm funny. As you might be aware, Mr. George Bernard Shaw, considered one of the most intelligent person in England was not the most handsome of the person. The story goes like this, once in some party a very (I would like to think it would be a very very) pretty lady told Bernard Shaw that perhaps they should get married. Perplexed Shaw asks for the reason and the lady answers, it would be perfect, with me so beautiful and you so intelligent, we would have perfect kids, the ones which are most beautiful and intelligent. Now the response of Shaw is awesome. He says, pardon me lady, I dont think the risk is worth taking, what happens if our kids have my beauty and your intelligence!!!

I think Mr. HS is responsible for me remembering birthdays of all my friends and fav persons. Today is the bday of Chandrakant Baxi, one of my favorite columnist (not so much of his books though) I like his blunt style of writing and his control of language. He is widely read and like the quotations that he used to put at the end of his articles. Sad that he is no more.

Today its birthday of one of my favorite actress- Kajol.

During my school days, I was mad about her. Her being Benali had a bit to do with it too (I have had soft corners for Bengali after I read Satyajit Ray and Tarashankar). I was really sad when heard about her marriage. But, now that she has been happily married, my respect for her has increased. Heres to the great one. Happy birthday Kajol.
